Program

The 3 days practical course will cover theoretical and practical aspects of following super-resolution techniques:

  • Structured illumination microscopy (SIM)
  • Stimulated emission depletion microscopy (STED)
  • Stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM)

including data of SIM and STORM reconstruction and STED deconvolution.

Participants will have an opportunity to test their own samples and try to set up their sample specific acquisition parameters. If desired, please contact organizers in advance for advice in sample preparation.

The course will be organized in the morning block of plenary lectures and afternoon hands-on sessions:

The block of plenary lectures is aimed to describe presented superresolution techniques, principles of each method and physics background. Practical research results reached in the field of biology will be reported.

During the hands-on session the participants will be practically taught how to set the parameters crucial for each particular method. This part of the course will give the opportunity to participants to maximally interact with lectors and colleagues in a small group at the microscope.
