About the Practical Course
A practical, selective, 3-day course for 12-15 participants, covering a wide range of methods in light microscopy of living samples.
The course introduces highly useful imaging techniques for live cells and larger specimens. Its main aim is to compare different methods, both theoretically and practically, across a variety of imaging systems. Topics range from widefield and confocal imaging to super-resolution microscopy and intracellular dynamics.
Each day combines theoretical instruction with practical demonstrations of various approaches and instruments. The course is strongly practice-oriented, with more than five hours of hands-on sessions every day.
The course is intended for users with previous experience in light microscopy and focuses on practical applications through numerous interactive demonstrations. Plenary lectures provide the theoretical background for all techniques presented.
